As an undergraduate at Boston College, Michael Gilligan ‘77 participated in PULSE, a philosophy and theology course that integrates experiential learning through service. The experience stayed with him through a successful career in private equity, consulting, and board leadership of several organizations. Ultimately, he discovered that his true passion and internal fulfillment came from his volunteer work with people living in poverty in Boston. He gave up his financial services career, but not the commitment and knowledge that had made him a success. Today, he applies his entrepreneurial expertise to the issue of poverty as the board chair of LIFT Boston.
