Career Services is committed to making connections between students, alumni, and employers through special events and career resources. We are available to assist Boston College School of Social Work students and alumni in identifying career goals and conducting a successful job search, and we have created resources and tips specifically for graduating students. Career Services also partners with employers to address recruiting needs. BCSSW is one of only a few graduate social work programs to have its own Career Services office.
Our network of over 7,000 alumni worldwide provides an invaluable resource for seeking career advice and making professional connections. In recent years, 95% of our graduates were employed and on average secured their job within 3 months. Ninety four percent of the BC SSW graduates who take the Masters level licensure exam pass compared to the national rate of eighty two percent of MSW graduates. Eighty nine percent of the BC SSW graduates taking the clinical exam passed compared to the national rate of seventy eight percent (according to ASWB reports from 2013).
A BC Social Work education balances intellectual rigor, field-tested techniques, and hands-on learning that make our graduates effective, creative social workers who can make an immediate impact on any organization. The proof is in our track record and the agencies with which we place and partner.
