Students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to attend a morning conference to explore the intersections of diversity and social work practice and to honor this year's recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards. This event brings the entire Boston College Graduate School of Social Work community together at the start of the second semester to deepen our respect for the complex diversity of the people and communities we are privileged to serve and to strengthen our practice skills.
In academic year 2013-2014, the GSSW community is focusing on Justice, Diversity, and Aging. In keeping with that focus, this conference will explore the challenges that social workers face in meeting the needs of older immigrants and refugees and older LGBT men and women.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards honor Boston College Graduate School of Social Work MSW or PhD alumni who have made significant contributions to the social work profession.
We are pleased to announce that the 2014 GSSW Distinguished Recent Alumni Award recipient is Erin McAleer, MSW '05. McAleer currently serves as Director of Cabinet Affairs in Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick's office. See full bio »
