WEBINAR: What's Your Encore? Crafting a Rewarding and Engaged Later Life

12:00–1:00 p.m.

As the “encore” movement gains momentum, we are seeing millions of people in the second half of life who want to apply their skills and experience to make a difference for others (whether paid or unpaid). Research evidence has accumulated showing the impact of personally and socially meaningful engagement on the mind, body, and spirit in mid and later life. We’ll present some of that research and highlight ways that you can tap into or rediscover those interests or activities in your life that you find most meaningful, and find a way to pursue them through an encore career, volunteer work, or other stipended opportunities. This might involve starting a nonprofit or your own business, or leaving a longtime job to begin work in a new field.

This webinar is led by BCSSW Assistant Professor and Senior Research Associate at the Sloan Center on Aging & Work, Christina Matz-Costa.
