GSSW Financial Aid

A number of social work grants administered directly by the School are awarded each year. The funds available vary from year to year with the distribution of federal and agency traineeships, and work-study opportunities.

Among other awards available through the School are: Presidential Tuition Scholarships and stipends associated with specific field placements, and GSSW graduate assistantships (Final Year students).

All applicants are considered for scholarship awards during the admission process. No additional application is required for GSSW Scholarships.

Applicants whose Financial Aid applications with the University are complete will receive notice of any University-administered funding assigned to them as early as possible after acceptance. This notice will be forwarded by the University Financial Aid Office, Lyons 120.  GSSW scholarship award notification will be included with the admission acceptance letter in most cases; however, some awards will be made on a rolling basis.

The school will notify applicants of other internally-administered awards as soon as funding sources are confirmed, but some do not allocate monies until summer.  Students should be prepared to take care of the expenses for the first year before submitting a tuition deposit.
