Central Massachusetts
(Worcester State College)

The GSSW has an off-campus site convenient to Worcester and Springfield Massachusetts at Worcester State College in Worcester, MA. Students can begin earning an MSW on a part-time basis with Clinical Practice or Macro Practice.

Boston College GSSW faculty teach classes that begin in September and meet once a week on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Many social workers have taken advantage of this opportunity since the off-campus program began in Central Massachusetts in 1980. Financial aid is available. Students take two classes per semester at the site. The final year courses are offered at the main campus on a weekly basis. The final year of study may also be split into two years.

Local field placements are available for all placement requirements. There is no field placement during the first year. The first field placement is in the second year of the program or in a block during the summer. It may be possible to do a placement in your employing agency.

For more information on the program, contact Marilyn Carey, careyme@bc.edu, site coordinator. For admissions information, visit the admission section of our website. Application materials are now online.
