Thanh V. Tran, PhD, received his doctorate from the School of Social Work, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas. His primary research focus has been on various issues of health and mental-health services among minority populations and measurement development and validation in social work. He currently teaches cross-cultural measurement methods, research methods, and program evaluation.
Dr. Tran has worked with the Vietnamese American community in different capacities since 1980. He received NIMH funding to study depression in the Vietnamese community. Dr. Tran was also funded by Boston Medical Foundation to study health service utilization among the Chinese and Russian immigrants in Boston area.
Dr. Tran is currently working on a book entitled "Applied Cross Cultural Data Analysis" for Oxford University Press. This book will be in press in the fall of 2018.
