Boston College has been awarded a $3.5 million grant from The Atlantic Philanthropies to assist GSSW faculty member Kevin Mahoney in the establishment of a technical assistance center for consumer direction. The new center will assist states in the development of consumer directed programs for older adults and people with disabilities. The grant will further support the center's efforts to train care managers to move from a medical model to an empowerment approach. Atlantic monies will also enable research efforts to improve consumer-directed care and enhance the work of the National Participant Network.
