Building Bridges was first launched in the summer of 2008.  A pre-college program for first generation students, Building Bridges offered 25 incoming freshmen an opportunity to get an inside look into the Carroll School of Management.  Through courses on Marketing, Operations, Information Systems, and Accounting, these students are able to get a head-start on the curriculum and meet Carroll School faculty.  Other activities of the program include resume building, an introduction to libraries and other academic resources at BC, and a chance to meet with student leaders. 

Since the launch of the Portico program, the Building Bridges vision is now realized as a first-generation section of Portico.
