This course is an introduction to law, legal institutions, and the legal environment
of business involving fundamental principles of justice and ethics.
Important provisions of the U.S. Constitution are reviewed. This course includes
an examination of the substantive law of contracts, from formation requirements
to remedies for breach of contract. Antitrust law, securities regulation, environmental
law, and employment and labor law illustrate the regulatory role of the administrative
agency on business and society. Legal aspects of international business and
intellectual property rights are examined in these increasingly important areas.
Case analysis and a research paper develop orderly thought processes, critical
judgment, and articulate expression.
