Application Requirements
It is the responsibility of each applicant to submit a complete application for review by the Admissions Committee. We strongly encourage you to apply electronically using our online application. Please do not send paper-based materials. If your application is complete on the deadline date, you will receive a response by the date specified in the application deadlines section. Applicants will be notified via e-mail when their application status has been updated within the online application system.
A completed application includes:
1) Completed and Signed Application Form
2) Current Resume
Please prepare a business resume that includes your educational and professional information. Professional information should consist of
employment history in reverse chronological order with titles, dates, relevant information and an indication of part-time or full-time status.
3) Employment History
Please provide your Employment History separately from your resume. The Employment History should follow the following format:
Name of Employer | Dates of Employment | Title | Starting Salary/Ending | Reason for Leaving
Please provide information regarding any gaps in employment and clearly indicate if you are still working at your most recent employer. If you are no longer employed, please indicate that on your employment history document.
If you are a current student and therefore do not have any postgraduate work experience, you still must submit a work history document. Please write N/A for each of the categories.
4) Essays
Two personal essays are required. Essays should be typed on separate sheets and numbered. A third essay is optional and you may use it to present any additional information you would like the Committee to consider.
5) Two Recommendations
The Admissions Committee requires written evaluations from individuals who can provide an objective and frank appraisal of your capacity for intensive graduate study and your potential for professional success. Recommendation forms must be completed online. After completing the recommendation information, click "send notification to recommender." Your recommender will receive an e-mail with a secure link and password to complete the recommendation online. Once your recommender completes the online form, you will receive a verification e-mail. If you are unable to submit online recommendation materials please contact the Office of Graduate Management Admissions at 617-552-3920 for further instructions.
We do not accept faxed, mailed, or emailed recommendations.
6) Transcripts
Transcripts from undergraduate and graduate academic institutions in which you were enrolled in a degree granting program are required. International students must submit an official English translation of academic credentials for evaluation. Transcripts must be submitted online. Applicants may either upload a self-reported transcript or scan a copy of each official transcript for every college or university in which you were enrolled in a degree granting program. If you are a current student please include your current classes even if you have not received your final grades. If admitted, you will be required to submit an official paper transcript from each institution you have listed. Official documents must bear the actual signature of the registrar and the official seal or stamp of the institution. Degrees and titles must be verified by certified copies of diplomas, dated entries on transcripts or statements signed by the registrar.
Boston College reserves the right to withdraw any offer of admission already made if there is any discrepancy between the self-reported transcript and the official transcript.
7) GMAT
MBA applicants are required to take the GMAT. All results must be forwarded to the Office of Admissions. Only GMAT scores from within the last 5 years are valid. The Full-Time MBA GMAT school code is 44X-J5-96 (formerly 3083). The Part-Time MBA GMAT school code is 44X-J5-78 (formerly 3083).

If you choose to re-take the GMAT after your application has been submitted, you must request that the Admissions Committee hold your application. Your file will not be reviewed until the official new score has been reported.
