The Lynch Leadership Academy's leadership effectiveness coaching model is rooted in the belief that each participant’s skills will exponentially improve with constructive feedback and real-world application.
As part of the program experience, and because we believe that practice with targeted feedback has a direct impact on outcomes, each fellow is assigned a Leadership Effectiveness Director (LED). The LED focuses on each fellow’s development and school goals, thereby targeting their work and focusing on identifying leadership areas for improvement and school outcomes by which to measure improvement.
One of the most distinctive attributes of the Lynch Leadership Academy’s program is its unique coaching model. Rooted in the belief that each participant’s skills will exponentially improve with constructive feedback and real-world application, the model becomes a key component of our program.
Each participant is assigned a Leadership Effectiveness Director who provides targeted leadership development through ten hours per month of individualized support. Leadership Effectiveness Directors work with their Fellows to revise their school goals and help them achieve their targets while helping Fellows apply the principles of their learning to grow as leaders.
Additionally, each aspiring principal completes a yearlong residency at a Boston-area school in their chosen sector, working closely with a principal who also serves as a mentor.
Aspiring principals lead professional development opportunities, facilitate leadership team meetings, observe teachers and provide feedback, engage key stakeholders and the community, and help manage the daily operations of a school.
