Stephanie Callahan | Head of Lower School, Salem Academy
Stephanie Callahan is the Head of Lower School at Salem Academy; a Commonwealth charter school whose mission is to prepare students in grades 6-12 for college through rigorous academics and service to the community. Raised in upstate New York, Callahan joined Teach For America after graduating from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations in 2001. After graduation, she joined Teach For America where she taught second and third grade in Lynwood, CA while earning a Master of Arts degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Callahan returned to Massachusetts to join KIPP Academy Lynn’s founding staff in 2004 to teach social studies and science. She joined Salem Academy in 2007 as Dean of Students and has served as the Head of Lower School since 2009.
