The final numbers for the Class of 2012 full-time MBA placements resulted in 90% of our full-time MBA graduates receiving job placements within three months of graduation and 99% of the Class of 2013 being placed in a summer internship.

During the busy weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, the CSOM graduate community paused to reflect on the true spirit of the holiday and the school’s Jesuit tradition of service. November 1 thru 15 marked the school’s first annual food drive in support of the Newton Centre Street Food Pantry. The goal of the drive was to provide at least 600 items to the pantry for Thanksgiving meals, and it was a resounding success!

The U.S. Federal Reserve, the country’s central bank, will likely continue trying to reduce unemployment by stimulating the economy with low interest rates for several more years, Eric Rosengren, president of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank, told an audience of alumni and MBA students at the Boston College Club in early November.

The 12th annual International Management Experience (IME) trip to Asia brought 19 full and part-time MBA students to Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo this past May, including MBA Evening student Nathan Richman. Led by Carroll School Lecturer Gregory L. Stoller, Nathan and his peers visited 12 corporations and also participated in three alumni events during their two week stay.

Despite the cloudy weather on May 21st, the excitement was palpable as soon-to-be-graduates lined up outside the tent on the Bapst library lawn. The bonds between classmates were evident as graduating MBAs, MSFs, MSAs and PhDs mixed and mingled before taking their seats for the ceremony marking the culmination of their academic careers at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management.

The students of the Carroll School of Management’s MB812 Negotiating class were tasked with an unconventional final project: negotiate an activity for the twenty-student group to participate in on the last evening of class. The project included multiple layers of negotiations in that an activity had to be arranged, but then also agreed upon by the rest of the class whom were also in competition. This presented the opportunity to put the many theories studied throughout the semester into practice.
