Terrance Jann, MSF '15, is currently an analyst at AQR Capital Management in Greenwich, CT.

Terrance “TJ” Jann, BC MSF ‘15, chose Boston College’s Master of Science in Finance Program to further his finance knowledge and prepare for a career in the industry. After graduation, TJ joined AQR Capital Management in Greenwich, CT, as an Analyst for the Advisors Solutions team in Business Development.

TJ was invited to an AQR information session at Boston College hosted by the Career Development Office. Through networking at this information session, TJ was offered an interview and eventually a position with the firm, “The opportunity to get in front of as many employers as possible and learn about their companies really allows you to better understand what kind of firm you would like to work at.”

Prior to joining Boston College, TJ earned a Bachelors of Finance with a minor in Business Law from Pennsylvania State University, while playing varsity baseball. With his passion for sports and entrepreneurial spirit, TJ co-founded an organization called Athletic Revolution, which collects excess sports equipment from universities to distribute to inner-city youth who are not normally able to afford the expensive equipment.

TJ was attracted to Boston College for the beautiful campus and close proximity to where he grew up. He decided to attend the BC MSF program for the prestigious quality of education, the real world experience the faculty has to offer, and the high rankings of the MSF program.

TJ believes that BC’s welcoming atmosphere and small class sizes offers an advantage because students have the opportunity to connect with faculty and classmates more than one would in a larger classroom setting. “The connections you make can lead to future employment or simply just understanding how others think about certain topics.” He recommends taking advantage of the loyal alumni network because they want to help current BC Eagles. TJ credits his early job offer to the quality and reputation of MSF program.
