Jeffrey Bridge , MBA/MSF '08
Given my past experiences and future career aspirations in private equity, there is no better program for me than the Carroll School's dual MBA/MSF degree. Before returning to graduate school, I worked for Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and was most recently in middle market mergers and acquisitions at Citigroup. I knew that I needed stronger analytical and technical skills in finance to facilitate my transition from the investment banking industry to private equity. Since BC's finance department is among the strongest in the world, concentrating in corporate finance and getting my dual MBA/MSF degree is going to help me stand out in the very competitive employment market.
So far, my experience at the Carroll School has exceeded my expectations. The high quality of diverse students, the award-winning faculty, and the excellent BC alumni network has already made a strong impact.
Professors at BC excel at relating coursework to the real world in a way that any experienced professional can truly appreciate. And, the MBA Program does an exceptional job of creating diverse teams that allow for members to learn from each other.
As a BC undergraduate alumnus, I can personally attest to the strength of the BC alumni network and my experience as a Wall Street Executive Fellow has only reinforced this point for me. I've been paired with the president of a leading private equity firm (and fellow BC alumnus). My mentor is helping me to not only develop my knowledge of the private equity industry, but also is showing me the way to develop into a successful Wall Street executive. He's exposed me to meetings where $5 billion investment opportunities are analyzed - investments that move the needle on a global level. It's thrilling to incorporate high-level experiences such as this into my MBA education.
