Jerome Taillard

Instructor - Finance Department

Jerome Taillard is expected to earn his PhD in Finance from the Ohio State University in 2009. He also received a graduate degree in Economics from the Study Center in Gerzensee (Switzerland) and his undergraduate degree in Mathematics applied to Finance (magna cum laude) from the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland.

His main research interests are in empirical corporate finance. Currently, he is doing research in the areas of financial distress, dynamic capital structure modeling and the governance and risk-taking behavior of financial institutions. His other interests include overcoming endogeneity issues in the context of the managerial ownership and firm performance relationship.

His teaching interests focus on corporate finance, risk management and international finance. Jérôme Taillard has taught international finance at the undergraduate level at the Fisher College of Business and has been a teaching assistant at both the graduate and undergraduate level for U.S. and foreign institutions.

He has served as consultant to one of the largest Swiss online brokerage firm on assessing the trading behavior and performance of their clients. He is a reviewer for the Global Association of Risk Managers (GARP)’s Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examinations. In addition, he is an ad hoc referee for the Review of Financial Studies.
