Professor Jérôme Taillard's main research interests are in empirical corporate finance. Currently, he is doing research in the areas of financial distress, litigation, optimal investments in the natural gas industry and corporate governance in the banking sector. His other interests include developing statistical methods to overcome endogeneity concerns, with applications to the relationship between managerial ownership and firm performance.
His teaching interests focus on corporate finance, valuation, risk management and international finance. Professor Taillard has taught international finance at the undergraduate level at the Fisher College of Business and has been a teaching assistant at both the graduate and undergraduate level for U.S. and foreign institutions.

He has served as consultant to one of the largest Swiss online brokerage firm on assessing the trading behavior and performance of their clients. He is a reviewer for the Global Association of Risk Managers (GARP)’s Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examinations. In addition, Professor Taillard is an ad hoc referee for several of the leading journals in finance including the Journal of Finance and the Review of Financial Studies.
