William Stevenson, Ph.D.

William Stevenson holds a B.S. in economics from the University of Maryland and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in sociology from the University of California, Riverside. He taught at the University of California, Irvine prior to coming to the Boston College Carroll School of Management in 1988. Before his academic career, Dr. Stevenson was a management analyst for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Washington, D.C. and a consultant at the Bureau of Social Science Research in Washington, D.C.
He is interested in how organizational design, social networks, and individual influence combine to creation organizational outcomes. He is currently conducting research on environmental sustainability efforts in organizations.

He is an associate editor of the journal Social Network Analysis and Mining and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He has served as a reviewer for Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, America Sociological Review, The Journal of Management Studies, The Journal of Management Inquiry, Sociological Theory, and The Journal of Business Research.
Dr. Stevenson teaches courses in environmental management, organizational research, and leadership.
