Billy Soo, PhD
Associate Professor & Department Chair - Accounting Department
Billy received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of the Philippines, summa cum laude, and has a Master of Science and PhD in Accounting and Information Systems from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to joining the faculty at Boston College in 1990, Billy worked for the accounting firm SGV & Co, now a member practice of Ernst & Young Global.
Billy's research interests focus on audit markets and tenure, disclosure incentives and financial regulations. He has published in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory.
Billy’s teaching interests are in financial accounting and financial statement analysis at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has taught for the Boston Security Analysts Society and the Greater Boston Executive Program.
