Erkut Sonmez, PhD

Assistant Professor - Operations & Strategic Management Department

Erkut Sonmez joins the Operations and Strategic Management faculty in Boston Collage as an assistant professor.  He obtained his BS degree in Industrial Engineering at Middle East Technical University in 2004. He received his MS degree at Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University in 2006. Erkut will earn his PhD in Operations Management at Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University in May 2009. In his dissertation, he studied capacity choice problems that arise with the development of new technologies, including specific applications in the banking and energy sectors. During his PhD studies at the Tepper School of Business, Erkut taught Production/Operations Management course as an instructor. He also taught several undergraduate and MBA level business courses as a recitation leader.  Erkut is the recipient of the William Larimer Mellon and Yasar High Academic Achievement fellowships.
