Larry Meile, PhD
Adjunct Associate Professor - Operations, Information & Strategic Management Department
After earning my bachelor of arts degree in Wisconsin, I worked for the Jamesway Division of Butler Manufacturing for five years, then for Hoxie Supply Company, a small plumbing and heating wholesaler. I earned my MBA at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, then spent two years teaching undergraduate operations management there. In 1980 I went to Texas Tech University to begin my doctoral studies in information systems. After completing my degree in 1985, I taught at Babson College for seven years. Since then, I have held positions as a visiting professor at Bentley college (one year), the University of New Hampshire (three years), and at Boston College since Fall 1995.
My research focuses on the use of information systems in the operations function of organizations, curriculum integration, and the development and use of in-class interactive exercises for improving teaching. I have a broad range of interests, including metal- and woodworking, electronics, astronomy, aviation, and bicycling. I find few things more relaxing and satisfying than time spent in my workshop experimenting with or designing and constructing something.
