David McKenna, PhD

David McKenna received his BS, 1968 and MBA, 1970 from Boston College and joined the faculty of the Operations and Strategic Management Department at Boston College in 1984 after fourteen years of experience in industry and government. His education, experience and interests are in the field of Management Science (Quantitative Methods for Management Decision Making) and Operations Management. He has constructed and implemented several models and systems which have improved profits and assist decision making at both the operational and strategic levels of the firm. In 1993 Mr. McKenna became the Director of the Carroll School of Management Honors Program.

His principal research interests are the applications of mathematical programming and optimization methods for planning and scheduling; forecasting methods and implementation; and techniques for inventory management and control.

His teaching interests revolve around Forecasting Techniques, Operations Research, Simulation Methods, Statistics, and Cases in Management Science at the graduate level; and, Management and Operations, Quantitative Methods, and Advanced Statistics at the undergraduate level.
