Darren Kisgen, PhD
Assistant Professor - Finance Department
Professor Kisgen has research interests in capital structure, mergers and acquisitions, and mutual fund performance. His research has appeared in the Journal of Finance and the Review of Financial Studies. He received a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Washington, and has degrees in mathematics, economics and business administration from Washington University in St. Louis. Professor Kisgen has taught courses in corporate finance, investments, and derivatives, and while at the University of Washington he was named "Favorite Teacher" in the Business School. Previously, Professor Kisgen also spent seven years as an investment banker on Wall Street, including a position as Vice President at Credit Suisse First Boston.
