S. Adam Brasel
Assistant Professor - Marketing Department
Professor Brasel received his PhD from Stanford University, and his MBA and
BS from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His primary research interest
is visual marketing, using eyetracker technology to explore issues such as how
consumers process promotional information in interactive environments, or how
consumers react to unexpected and threatening visual information.
His additional research interests include how alternative proliferation in choice
settings affect consumers, and how consumer-brand relationships can lead to
positive and negative outcomes for both consumers and the brand. His research
has appeared in publications ranging from the Journal of Consumer Research
and the Journal of Family and Consumer Science to the Wall Street
Journal and Fast Company.
His teaching interests include marketing research, consumer behavior, promotions, and new techniques in marketing. He currently teaches the marketing research course for undergraduates.
