Assistant Professor of Operations Management 

Position Opening for September 2009

The Operations & Strategic Management Department in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Operations Management (either newly graduated or experienced) for September 2009.  Qualifications include a completed doctorate (before starting the position) in Operations Management and demonstrated or potential excellence in research and teaching.  We have a preference for applicants with industry experience and a research focus in empirical service operations.  Current vita, sample publications, summary of teaching evaluations, and three letters of reference should be sent by December 1, 2008 to:  ops@bc.edu (strongly preferred) or Professor Joy Field, Fulton 350, Carroll School of Management, Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.

Adjunct Positions

The Department also has occasional need for part-time instructors to supplement the faculty, especially in semesters when members of the faculty might be on sabbatical. Part-time positions may also become available on short notice in unusual circumstances.  Areas include operations management (grad and undergrad core), supply chain management, new product development, new enterprise development, project management, statistics, strategy, and strategic planning and development.  Most of the graduate courses would be taught in the evenings.
