Full-Time Lecturer in Marketing

The Marketing Department in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure track teaching position in Marketing, beginning September 2015.  The faculty member is expected to teach six course a year, as well as work with students outside the classroom setting (e.g., advising students about courses and careers, mentoring student organizations, and other relevant activities). 

Applications will be considered with experience in either academia or industry. The ideal candidate will have elements of experience from both.  Strong candidates should be versatile, with an ability to teach a variety of marketing topics to both undergraduate and graduate (MBA) students, with strong skills in both quantitative and strategic analysis, and with expertise in leading-edge topics in marketing, such as analytics and social media.  Applicants will be expected to maintain their professional qualification (PQ) or academic qualification (AQ), per AACSB standards.

Candidates from academia should have an advanced degree, such as a Ph.D. in Marketing or a closely related field. A well-qualified candidate will desire a full-time teaching career, will demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence at an accredited business school at both the undergraduate and graduate (MBA) levels in marketing, and will be an enthusiastic participant in the Marketing Department and Carroll School community. Candidates with strong external ties to industry are preferred. 

Candidates from industry should have an advanced degree, such as an MBA or equivalent. A well-qualified candidate will have significant experience in marketing, preferably with companies or clients that have recognized brands or products based on emerging technologies, will desire a full-time teaching career, and will be an enthusiastic participant in the Marketing Department and Carroll School community. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching on a part-time basis at a university or in a corporate training program. Applicants should have knowledge about the marketing profession and marketing careers, and connections to marketing firms and marketing leaders.
