Assistant professor of information systems Gerald Kane says a wiki—a web site that allows its users to add and edit content and whose name comes from the Hawaiian word for "quick"—has replaced the class textbook in his "Computers in Management" course. Through the wiki, students collaborate in creating course content, critiquing one anothers' papers, and developing test questions. Kane says the wiki-based approach results in fresh course materials and a "collaborative-based" learning environment for students. Read the Computerworld article.
