Systematic Theology

The Department of Theology at Boston College seeks to fill a tenured or tenure-track position in Systematic Theology with specialization in Fundamental/Philosophical Theology at the level of Associate or Assistant Professor, beginning in September 2012. Successful candidates will be familiar with the Roman Catholic tradition and demonstrate ability to engage modern and postmodern philosophical thought in reflecting on the fundamental beliefs and issues of Christian theology. A research focus on one or more of the standard loci of Systematics (e.g., eschatology, trinity, creation, or pneumatology, etc.) is desirable. The successful candidate will teach an undergraduate core course as well as doctoral level courses. While the Department favors an appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, very strong junior candidates are also encouraged to apply. Assistant Professor of Patristic Theology

The Department of Theology at Boston College invites applications for a tenure track position in Latin Patristic Theology at the level of assistant professor. Applicants must have a general knowledge of the Latin Christian authors of the early Church and an expertise in the theology of St. Augustine or another major Christian author of the Latin west. Successful candidates will be able to teach an undergraduate survey of Christian Theology, as well as upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in Patristic Theology. Ph.D. must be completed before assuming the position. Adjunct Professor of Theology

The Department of Theology at Boston College invites applications to fill a non-tenure track position, renewable every two years. The candidate will be expected to teach the core course Perspectives in Western Culture, as well as upper-level undergraduate courses in the area of systematic or historical theology. The teaching load is 3-3. Applicants must be versed in the classics of the Western philosophical and religious tradition and demonstrate excellence in teaching. Ph.D. must be completed before assuming the position.
