Assistant Professor of the Practice of Theology
Boston College Department of Theology invites applications to fill a full time, non-tenure-track position renewable every 3 years with primary responsibility to teach in the PULSE Program for Service Learning.
Long a leader and innovator in service learning, the PULSE Program educates more than 400 undergraduate students each year through the integration of community-based social service and social advocacy fieldwork with the study of theology, philosophy, and social analysis. The successful candidate will teach two yearlong sections (6 credits per section per semester) of 26 students each.
We invite applicants from within any of the theological disciplines. Familiarity with the Catholic social justice tradition and with service learning is highly desired but not required. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching. PhD must be completed before assuming the position.

Boston College invites applicants for an open rank, tenure-track position with specialization in the thought of Bernard Lonergan, S.J. We are especially interested in candidates capable of bringing Lonergan’s work into constructive dialogue with a variety of disciplines and contemporary issues. Successful candidates must demonstrate excellence in previous scholarship on the work of Lonergan, as well as excellence in teaching. Candidates will be expected to contribute significantly to the work of the Lonergan Institute at Boston College (http://bclonergan.org/), as well as to research and teaching in the Departments of Theology and/or Philosophy. Teaching responsibilities (2-2 course load) will include undergraduate and graduate courses, plus PhD supervision.
