In October 2007, 138 prominent Muslim leaders signed the document "A Common Word" reaching out to Christians to come together on the basis of what is common to us. This Inaugural Lecture of the Boston College Symposia on Interreligious Dialogue seeks to celebrate this historic event and respond to it with reflection on the meaning and purpose of dialogue between religions. Keynote Speaker: Professor David Burrell, Emeritus from the University of Notre Dame Respondents: Professor Francis Clooney, Harvard University and Professor Joseph Lumbard, Brandeis University Reception to follow.
