The Theology Minor allows students to focus on a theme within Theology and to work on that theme with an internationally recognized theological faculty. For example, a minor might focus on the teachings and spirituality of the Roman Catholic Church, or a particular era in the history of the Christian Churches, or current ethical issues, or Jewish Studies, or the beliefs and practices of Hinduism, Buddhism or Islam.
The minor chooses a combination of courses that will enable him or her to deal with the content and to assimilate the theological methods related to the chosen theme.
Requirements:
- The Theology Minor consists of six three credit courses. One of these can also count toward the Theology Core requirement.
- The remaining five courses will be chosen in keeping with a theme the student has selected in one of the areas or disciplines within theology.
- Students will decide on this theme and the appropriate courses in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies or, after consultation with the Director, with another faculty member.
