Michelle Miller graduated from Boston College in 1998 with a double major in Theater and Philosophy, with a minor in Theology. One of the highlights of her college singing career was singing as soloist at mass at St. Peter's Basilica and later at an audience with Pope John Paul II. The others were annual concerts with the Boston Pops under John Williams, Keith Lockhart, and Marvin Hamlisch, as well as singing the National Anthem at Fenway Park for Opening Day and her Graduation Commencement ceremonies. During her summers Michelle continued her education in theater and music by performing and studying with the National Theater of Ireland -The Abbey Theater, Dublin and Circle in The Square Theater School as well as teaching and singing with the Kansas City Lyric Opera Outreach where she worked with at risk inner city children, visually impaired and autistic youth. While in New York, Michelle has worn many hats as an actor, singer, writer, theater company founder and producer. She has been seen regionally in plays and musicals, both contemporary and classical and as a headlining singer for the New Haven Symphony and the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra. In New York Michelle has performed most notably Off Broadway, sold out performances at the Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center, The International Fringe Festival, and her one-woman show. Most recently Michelle appeared with Colby Foytik in Andrew Lippa’s musical john & jen at the Triad in Manhattan. She is frequently featured in readings of new musicals in development and appears on recordings for up and coming composers. In recent years Michelle has been hired as a lecturer on singing and performing for Mannes (the Music Graduate Program of the New School in New York), and Boston College. Michelle is also a certified Pilates instructor, and has done workshops with opera singers incorporating her classical vocal training with her study of nutrition, anatomy and physiology to promote their health and vocal longevity. MetLife has also hired Michelle to perform and instruct management on issues of sensitivity and diversity.
