Dr. Wanda Strukus

Courses: Introduction to Theatre

Wanda Strukus holds a Ph.D. in Drama (Tufts University), an MA in Theater (University of Arizona), and a BA in Film (Wesleyan University).  She has taught acting, directing, voice and movement, dramatic literature, and Viewpoints at UMass Lowell, Marlboro College, Holy Cross, Northeastern University, the New York Film Academy, and throughout the greater Boston area.  Her work as a director includes productions for SLAMBoston, Riverside Theaterworks, Salem Theatre Company, Theaterzone, MIT Shakespeare Ensemble, Revolving Museum, and UMass Lowell, as well as casting direction for Boston-area film and television.  Her modern dance background includes ongoing work with Daniel McCusker Dance Projects.  Her directing and performance work focuses on site-specific performance and the intersection of dance and theater, and she is a 2009 participant in the Jacob’s Pillow Choreographer/Director’s Lab.  Her primary research area is the intersection of theater and science, with a focus on cognitive science and performance.  She is a consulting artist for the Connecticut-based Center for Public Awareness in Bioethics (CPAB).
