Graduate Students in the Department of Sociology at Boston College go on to careers at a range of top-ranked Ph.D-granting universities, top-ranked liberal arts colleges, Catholic colleges and universities, state colleges and universities, and regional private schools. In recent years, job placements have included Harvard, University of California at Santa Barbara, Boston University, Colby College, Vassar, Stonehill College, University of Dayton, Minnesota State University, University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Virginia Commonwealth, Emerson College, St. Lawrence University, and Montana State University. Some students have also taken positions in consulting, philanthropy and civil service.
