Eddie Hernandez-Perez won the journal naming competetion with the title SocialEyes.

Description

We are now accepting submissions for a new kind of academic journal. Our vision is to create a forum for undergraduate students to share their academic work, extracurricular interests, and personal talents relating to their experiences in sociology. This journal will be published online through the Sociology department's website as well as sent via email to the Boston College sociology community in an effort to create a way for students to connect and share ideas with one another.
Submissions may include:
  • Papers and assignments done for a class
  • Informal free writes
  • Journal entries
  • Essays
  • Reflections
  • Poetry
  • Photography
  • General observations of everyday life and current events both here at Boston College and around the globe

Submission Guidlines
  • All materials and questions should be emailed to sociology.journal@bc.edu
  • The journal is open to all undergraduate students at Boston College (including graduating seniors of 2009)
  • Submissions should be sent with a cover sheet including:
    • Your name and contact information (now and over the summer)
    • A title of the work
    • The date of submission
    • Please no identifying information on any part of the work except for the cover sheet
  • All text should be sent in .doc Word format, double spaced, size 12 font
  • Submissions should not exceed 10 pages
  • Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 8th 2009
Editorial Information
Submissions will be reviewed by our editorial board during Summer 2009 when authors will be contacted via email regarding their submissions. We plan to publish this first online issue during Fall 2009 semester.
