Several brochures on grants and fellowships are available in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences office. They list the major grants for graduate study with their various eligibility requirements (such as degrees, citizenship, etc.), as well as the procedures for applying. Grants are awarded for a wide range of activities at various levels. Such grants include those for teaching, dissertation research, summer travel abroad, and travel to research libraries. Students should inform themselves about specific grants by requesting information by mail. Please note that deadlines and procedures for application vary greatly. Applying for a grant can be a long process which needs to be initiated well in advance of the deadline. When applying for a grant, students should consult with their advisor and professors. Additional information on fellowship opportunities may be obtained from the Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Students who want to obtain information about the Graduate Assistantships, Research Assistantships, Teaching Assistantships, Teaching Fellowships Tuition Scholarships, University Fellowships, as well as federal financial aid and research funding should consult the Financial Aid Office. |
