St. Mark Community Education Program

Nature and Purpose

The mission of St. Mark Community Education Program is to improve the quality of immigrants' lives and their opportunities and thereby improve the whole community. The program provides 4 levels of English, from beginner to advance. As students improve their English , they can  advocate for themselves and their families, gain better employment, further their education, participate in the U.S. political process and public life, and negotiate their interactions with government, public and private institutions.

Tasks

PULSE students will work with a small group of adult students to improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in areas such as career awareness, health literacy, the workplace, social situations, shopping and leisure activities in our afternoon and evening program.  Our program serves people from Vietnam, Cape Verde, Haiti, Central America, Dominican Republic, the Middle East and Africa.
