"Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. I can't believe how quickly
time has flown by since I left B.C.. After I graduated, I moved back to good
old New Jersey (no jokes please!). I bartended to save money to travel to Europe,
I always wanted to backpack across Europe. So my best friend Sarah and I saved
up and left with one-way tickets. 16 countries and 6 months later, I came home
for a travel hyatus. After 3 long months I am heading to London again to travel
with Dirkie, a South African that I met in London. I will work in London for
approximately a month, then head to South Africa. After South Africa we will
meet my family in Spain. After Spain, Dirkie and I will head to Nepal to trek
through the Himalayas. We will then take a rest on the beach in Thailand. I'm
thinking Malaysia and Vietnam will get squeezed into our itinerary as well.
So, if anyone is in any of these places, please get in touch. I will be checking
my e-mail periodically. Also, if anyone needs any travel tips or info., don't
hesitate to ask! After this 6 month adventure i'll be back in the States applying
for a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. Take Care!" lisarooroo@hotmail.com

"Hi, everyone! There is life after BC believe it or not! I began law school
in the fall of 1997. I am currently in my second year at Albany Law School.
I have been clerking for the Honorable Thomas W. Keegan at the New York State
Supreme Court and working with Albany Law School's Government Law Center. In
keeping with the PULSE tradition, this year I helped coordinate the largest
service project that Albany Law participates in. The project is called "Senior
Citizens' Law Day," and it is a day-long event which offers a series of
legal seminars and educational programs dealing with Elder Law issues. Approximately
1,000 senior citizens, their families and caregivers attend each year! Hopefully
you all are doing well. Drop me a line ...I would love to hear what you are
doing!" jcintron@mail.als.edu

"After graduation I worked at Houghton Mifflin Co. in Boston for a year
in the Trade and Reference Division. Then I moved back to Los Angeles (I grew
up in Pasadena) and I am working at the Writers' Program at UCLA Extension,
which is the largest state university related writing program (fiction, poetry,
screenwriting, non-fiction, etc.) in the country. I counsel students and assist
with administration and course planning. And I am continuing writing (fiction)-
I am planning to go back to school for a graduate degree, but after I get more
work experience...so that's my post-BC story so far!"

"Hello PULSE!! I have spent the past two years working in a Catholic Grade
School in St. Pete, FL as part of the Alliance for Catholic Education. Apart
from having to live with 4 roommates from Notre Dame, life has been great. I
am coaching almost everything (which is the most humerous part of my job, but
don't tell my students), and teaching science, language arts and religion. It
has been really awesome. I am still trying to figure out what next year holds.
Right now I am thinking about teaching English in Bangladesh with a couple other
ACErs. It would be pretty crazy, but extremely rewarding as well. We'll see!!
I would love to hear from any and all of you!"

"A few months after graduation, I headed off for two great years teaching in Tanzania with Jesuit Volunteers. In July 1999 I will finish with JVI and have not decided if I'll return home or work with Jesuit Refugee Services in Tanzania for a year."
