Patricia Leonard Pasley:
"Ten years after Council I find myself living a very PULSE Council-like
existence. I am a lay campus minister at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield,
CT. I am responsible for social justice education and community service projects
in nearby Bridgeport. Lately I have been frustrated by my inability to help
students make connections between their volunteer work in the city and the justice
issues that accompany them. I am working on creating a new program here- yes,
I know what you're thinking, but I call it a Certificate in Christian Leadership.
It combiones academic course work with service and mentoring. (I know, novel!
but people around here are starting to think I just might be onto something-
so don't give me away.) On a personal note, I have been married for eight years
and have three children (Brendan, 5, Maura, 3, and Aidan, 2) who mediate our
lives with meaning and mounds of laundry. My husband Kevin is in medical school
trying to be a P.A.. So this time in our life is very busy but luckily very
happy as well. I would love to hear what happened to the rest of you! My three
year with PULSE were life changing and I think of you often."
Michelle Murray Tetreault:
I am in private practice in Exeter, NH working with children, adolescents and
adults concerning Parent Education, Behavioral Difficulties, Infertility Issues,
and Respiratory Asthma. I am married, with 2 children ages 6 and 4. I've done
social work in Community Mental Health, inpatient hospital, and residential
and school systems.
Just after the Council, I spent a year in the JVC. My interest in serving was largely nurtured by my PULSE experience at BC. Since JVC, i've lived in nyc and loved it. The life, culture, diversity, etc...is stimulating as well as engaging. Although I am not working full-time in community service (although I am employed at a Jesuit University and happy there!), I do try to incorporate volunteer work serving the less fortunate in some capacity. Thank you PULSE for helping me to value that. A special hello to Pat Byrne and Dick Keeley. JulieCFM@aol.com
