PULSE Program

1979 Alumni

Peter DeBiasi:
"After graduation, lived and worked at Haley House of Hospitality (a Pulse placement) in the south end of Boston. From there I went on to teach High School religion on Mission Hill in Roxbury. Received my Masters in Education from Harvard in 1985, relocated to SE CT (home) and worked for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich in fund development. Moved onto to a family service agency as director of finance and devel. then to the Mystic Community Center where I've been Executive Director since 1991. I married Gloria Murray in 1981 and we have three children - Anna 15, Sara 12 Patrick 9. Soccer is a major part of our family recreational life - coaching, playing and cheering. I have fond memories of my Pulse days and really consider the program my alma mater".  murray.dbrc@snet.net

Jonathan D. Scott:
I guess I owe my entire professional career and life to PULSE because 20 years later I'm still at my original PULSE placement. Here's the story....In 1977, my first PULSE placement was at Victory House, a halfway house in the South End of Boston dedicated to treat chronic alcoholics. I volunteered until I graduated from BC in 1979. At that point I was hired by Victory House to be an Evening manager and counselor. I was hired as Executive Director in 1984 until I became President and CEO. The agency is now called Victory Programs, Inc and has 14 community based programs that include residential treatment, transitional housing, supportive housing, wellness center, stabilization services. We have 140 employees (when I started in 1977 we had four). We treat over 2,000 men, women and children each year. Two of our sites are current PULSE placements... maybe someday one of those undergraduate volunteers will replace me! Thank you PULSE for all you're doing everyday.  jscott@vpi.org

Joseph Bonito:
After graduating from Boston College, I have spent the last 20 years primarily doing management consulting and human resources work.  I currently run a worldwide internal consulting group for Pfizer in NYC. I've been married for the last 10 years to Renee Creange, after connecting at our 10 year high school reunion. We have two daughters, Cara (age 9) and Elissa (age 5 1/2). Both attend a charter school in our town.
