Research Agreement

Students required to complete research credits must read the Research Agreement, fill out the bottom section, and turn it in to their professor(s).

Critique of Research Articles

You may fulfill all or part of your research participant requirement by critiquing the articles provided below. Each lab has an article that you can select to critique. You must include on your critique:

  • Full name
  • Professor’s name
  • Course number
  • Title of the article

Your critique should be no less than 500 words in length and should be typed in no smaller than Times New Roman font size 12. Critiques are due in the Psychology Department (McGuinn Room 301) no later than Thursday, April 24, 2008, one week before the last day of classes. We ask that you critique these articles by answering the questions below.

  1. What question or questions were the researchers trying to answer in this study?
  2. Is the study best described as an experiment, a correlational study, or a descriptive study? Explain your answer.
  3. Briefly, and in your own words, what was done and what was found in this study? (Answer in general terms; elaborate details are not needed.)
  4. What did the researchers conclude from their findings?
  5. Do you think the study was well designed for answering question(s)? Why or why not?
  6. Do you have any other comments or questions regarding this article?
