Academic Interests: My research examines the forebrain neural circuitry involved in learning when an environmental cue signals food. Specifically, I am interested in the recruitment of an amygdala-medial prefrontal cortex-lateral hypothalamic circuit. Currently, I am examining the functional connectivity patterns of the amygdala-medial prefrontal cortex pathway across learning. My future studies will examine how the amygdala guides learning-induced plasticity in medial prefrontal cortex neurons that send projections to the lateral hypothalamus during cue-food learning.

Undergraduate Institution/Degree: B.A. in Psychology (minor in Biology), Shippensburg University, 2012.
