A) Plan Early -- starting in the spring of your freshman year or during the fall semester of
your sophomore year:
1) Contact the B.C. International Programs Office (Hovey House)
www.bc.edu/offices/international/ ; 617-552-3827, email: oip@bc.edu.
2) Make sure you are aware of the requirements for your potential major.
3) Make sure that you are aware of the requirements of your school (e.g. A&S,
SOM) in order to be approved for study abroad.
B) Fall Semester Sophomore Year – Contact the Premedical Office
_ 1) Pick up and read the Sophomore Advising Packet (available in the Premedical
Office-Higgins 648).
2) After you have completed a) one year of academic work and b) carried out the
three recommendations in section A above, you should make an appointment to
meet with a staff member in the Premedical Programs Office to discuss your
plans (617- 552-4663). Most students interested in studying abroad contact the
Premedical Office in the fall of their sophomore year, for by that time they know
if their grades are in the "competitive range" for admission to health professions
graduate school, and this allows for more effective planning.
