Nasser Behnegar’s investigations revolve around two interrelated themes: the foundation of social science and the foundation of modern liberalism. In general, he approaches these themes through close textual analysis of the leading thinkers on these matters: Nietzsche, Max Weber, Strauss, David Hume, John Locke, etc. In recent years, he has also become interested in Islamic political philosophy in so far as it casts light on the relation between religion and politics.
