Professional Career

Dr. Garcia joined the philosophy department in 1999, offering courses in philosophy of religion, analytic philosophy, and contemporary metaphysics. Since 2005, health considerations have prevented her from teaching, but she remains an active member of the department and of the wider philosophical community, writing and presenting academic papers on topics in philosophy of religion and ethics, as well as addressing broader audiences on the life issues and the vocation of women. Prior to arriving at Boston College, Dr. Garcia taught at Rutgers University, Georgetown University, University of St. Thomas (St. Paul), Catholic University of America, Calvin College, and University of Notre Dame.
