Alexander Cotter chose Boston College's graduate program in mathematics in order to gain a broader and deeper understanding of the subject, and to improve his prospects for doctoral study. At BC, "the quality of the instruction is excellent," he says, and he has already "learned a tremendous amount of mathematics." Although it's months before applications are due, he's eyeing–with greater confidence–a number of competitive programs.
