The Mathematics Department participates in three graduate degree programs: two with the Lynch School of Education, and one with the Carroll Graduate School of Management.
All students applying to these programs are considered for teaching fellowships, although preference is given first to M.A. students, and then to students whose schedules allow their availability for teaching responsibilities comparable to those of M.A. students.
Master of Science in Teaching in Mathematics
The Lynch School of Education offers this M.S.T. degree in Mathematics. Students complete courses in both Mathematics and in the School of Education. Five (5) courses must be completed in Mathematics, including MT804 Analysis I and MT805 Analysis II.
Joint M.A. in Mathematics and Master's in Business
This is an intensive, three-year, dual-degree program offered in conjunction with the Carroll School of Management. Students must complete all requirements for the M.A. degree in Mathematics, and students receive both an M.A. in Mathematics and an M.B.A. from the Carroll School upon graduation.
M. Ed. degree
This program in the Lynch School of Education is primarily an education degree at the Master's level. Students are usually required to complete only MT804 Analysis I and MT805 Analysis II.
