The director, on the basis of a review process completed by the university's Office of Admissions, writes to qualified high-school seniors in the spring of their senior year and invites them to participate in the program. Admissions uses several criteria in their selection process: high-school achievement, aptitude test scores, teacher recommendations, and the content and quality of application essays and other writing samples. Some students are also offered admission as sophomores each year, on the recommendation of instructors in their first-year courses and on the basis of exceptionally strong academic performance. To continue in good standing in the Program a student must maintain a minimum gradepoint average of 3.40. About 140 students will eventually be accepted into the Program. Admissions Office liaison to the Arts and Sciences Honors Program is Ms. Elizabeth Borge, Senior Assistant Director, Devlin Hall 208, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 (elizabeth.borge.1@bc.edu). The Office of Admissions is located in Devlin Hall.
