Research Interests:

My interests are mainly in politics and reform in the early 19th centry, including the rise of the second party system and the Jacksonian era. In particular, I am interested the contours and contents of American political thought in the Jacksonian Era and the way in which people created, and interected with, the public sphere. Additional interests include African-American history and the history of the New York State.
