Research Interests:

I am currently researching the post-World War II treason trial of Iva Toguri d'Aquino, aka "Tokyo Rose," in order to expose the problems of citizenship that plague women and minorities during wartime.  Using her trial as a case study of the problem of statelessness, my dissertation will demonstrate how considerations of race, gender, and national security can deprive an individual of her citizenship and therefore her identity.
