HS-082-11 Modern History II

spring semester

Kylie Dodson

Revolution, uprising, and protest are crucial forces in human history.  This course will focus on revolution and uprising as a way of understanding the development of identity and society between 1700 and today.  We will discuss the myriad types of revolution seen around the world, and learn how to evaluate and interpret source material through weekly exercises in the application of theory to revolutionary events.  Students will be asked to make connections between historiography and history, theory and reality, and to develop their own ways of interpreting and evaluating events.
